PLAY BALL!
Do you like to play hopscotch? If so here is a fun way to practice reading your spelling words. Use chalk to draw your hopscotch on your driveway or sidewalk. Next with your chalk write the numbers of spelling words you have in the squares (for example if you have 10 spelling words make 10 boxes with the numbers 1-10). Then throw a beanbag onto the hopscotch. What ever number you land on is how many spelling words you have to read from your list. For each word you get right give yourself a point! Before the game set a goal for the number of points you want to earn. Hop on over to get your bean bag and start again! HOP AWAY!

COMPREHENSION FUN and assessment
Choose one of the passages to read. Try the 5 finger test to be sure that your choice is a good one for you. If you have trouble reading 5 words on the first page, choose a different passage that is a better fit. Then answer the questions that come after the passage. You can discuss them with someone at home first then write your answers on lined paper or print out the question sheets. Then bring them into class for one of your assessments or an extra assignment! Way to go!
